Bio

Anna has been fortunate enough to teach and dance since passing her BA Hons degree at the Roehampton Institute in London in 1995. Her teaching passions include; drama, classical dance, ballet, modern, tap and contemporary. Anna has been lucky enough to hold the role of Artistic Director at Open Stage, for the last 13 years, enjoying every minute.

Together with family members Anna also runs her own dance school, established in 1972 the Fusco Academy, based in Wolverhampton, offers a wide range of programs for all ages.

Anna believes that Open Stage, lives up to its name in every sense, offering a place for adults with learning disabilities/difficulties, providing a fun environment in which students can learn new skills in dance, mixed with acting, teamwork and singing. Together with volunteers all group members are taken in a direction that people will want, to not only engage with, but come back and enjoy year after year together with their families and friends.

As artistic director of Open Stage Anna coordinates all the aspects of the shows that the group performs throughout the year and takes responsibility for; conceiving, developing and implementing the artistic vision and focus for the group.

Of course this is always achieved together with group members, volunteers and colleagues to progress and improve its aesthetic values and activities, to which Anna is eternally grateful.

Anna is thrilled to be part of Open Stage whose distinctive mission uses the performing arts as a lens to help everyone better understand ourselves and our diverse communities. Anna is inspired by the groups' commitment to artistic excellence, community engagement, and to presenting performances that reflect the diversity of its make up.

She feels privileged that they have and continue to choose her as their Artistic Director, and very proud of what each and every one of her students achieve year after year.
